Overview

Andrea brings more than 15 years of political strategy, government relations, and public affairs experience as well as deep relationships with members of Congress and staff, the Capitol Hill Press Corps, and major news networks. She counsels trade associations, corporations, nonprofits, and other clients on communications and public relations strategies, media relations, and lawmaker and stakeholder engagement, leveraging her considerable experience to craft winning approaches that achieve her clients’ goals.

Experience

Prior to joining Strategies, Andrea was a Vice President at S-3 Group, a full-service policy and government relations firm. At S-3 Group, she advised a wide range of clients on political and public affairs, communicated complex issues and regulatory processes, and secured broadcast and print media placements.

She is a seasoned Capitol Hill veteran who has spent nearly a decade working for House Democratic leadership as well as on local, Congressional, and Senate campaigns. While on Capitol Hill, she served as the Deputy Director for the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, under then-Chairman Steve Israel (D-NY) and Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. There she aligned policy priorities with key messages for House Democrats during the 2016 election cycle, and also led multiple targeted campaigns by utilizing parliamentary tactics available to the minority.

Previously, Andrea was the Director of Member Services and principal leadership staffer for then-Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). In this role she advised Congressional offices on best practices, led Caucus-wide programs for Chiefs of Staff, Press Secretaries, and District Directors, and served as floor staff. Earlier, Andrea also served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY).
