Alexius C. O'Malley



Alexius focuses her practice on all aspects of labor and employment law. She defends clients against administrative agency charges and employment litigation in both state and federal trial and appellate courts. In addition to her litigation practice, Alexius provides advice and counsel to assist clients ensure compliance with all applicable laws governing the employee-employer relationship. Her experience includes matters related to:

Alexius has experience working with clients in various industries, including higher education, insurance, transportation, manufacturing and healthcare. Before joining Michael Best, she served as in-house legal counsel at a large private university.  In this role she counseled university leaders on a variety of matters related to employment, Title IX, FERPA, data privacy, risk management, benefits and conducted internal investigations.


Alexius also has commercial litigation experience in consumer class actions, complex contract disputes, federal trademarks, partnership and corporate business disputes, as well as white-collar defense and investigations.

While in law school she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Ruben Castillo in the U.S. District Court’s Northern District of Illinois.

Alexius has committed hundreds of hours to community service and secured notable pro bono wins, including obtaining asylum for an unaccompanied minor refugee client and gaining social security benefits for a disabled child client.
