Alex focuses his practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation. In all arenas, Alex is driven to achieve exceptional results for his clients. He has extensive experience litigating in state and federal courts, resolving claims through arbitration and mediation, and representing clients in agency proceedings.
He has established a record of success representing clients in complex commercial cases including defending class action consumer protection, fraud, telephone solicitation and credit reporting claims, as well as myriad other disputes between business competitors and individuals. Alex’s intellectual property litigation practice includes handling trials and appeals in patent, trademark, trade dress and false advertising litigation, as well as post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trials and Appeals Board.
Alex also has significant experience litigating claims involving trade secret misappropriation, non-competition, non-solicitation and employment agreements, unfair competition and deceptive trade practices, e-commerce transactions, website terms and conditions, and service contracts. In addition, Alex regularly handles employment litigation matters, and has helped his clients successfully defend discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge and wage and hour claims.
Alex is a zealous advocate for his clients who strives for excellence in all aspects of his representation. He is well versed in all aspects of civil litigation from preliminary investigation of claims through trial and appeal. He has obtained numerous dismissals and summary judgments in favor of clients prior to trial. Prior to joining the firm, Alex was a partner in the Colorado office of a national law firm where he focused on intellectual property, labor and employment, and business litigation. Alex also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Philip A. Brimmer in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He began his legal career with an international law firm, where he litigated employment, contract, and other business matters and managed investigations in response to Securities and Exchange Commission inquiries.
