Chicago, IL (November 19, 2017) – Michael Best is pleased to announce that partner Jorge M. Leon has been selected for inclusion in the 2018 Chicago’s Notable Minority Lawyers list by Crain’s Chicago Business. The list recognizes 58 senior level minority lawyers in Chicago who have made a significant impact within the legal community, as well as contributions to the business community as a whole.
Leon, a Chicago employee benefits partner, has more than two decades of experience counseling employers in the manufacturing, education, defense, IT, and food and beverage industries on the design, establishment, and maintenance of retirement plans. His work has established national benefits policy with the IRS, has helped clients meet their goals and has ensured that several hundred thousand workers across the country can meet their retirement needs. Leon chairs Michael Best’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and with his leadership, Leon also founded the firm’s employee resource group, Lawyers & Engineers Advancing Diversity.
Leon is also a fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and a member of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s leadership advisory council. He is on the boards of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois Charities and Gads Hill Center.
