Milwaukee, WI (August 11, 2016) – Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is pleased to announce Thomas A. Agnello has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Group as an attorney in the Milwaukee office. Agnello’s practice will focus on the acquisition, enforcement, and exploitation of intellectual property rights, particularly related to trademarks and copyrights, both domestically and internationally.
Prior to joining Michael Best, Agnello was a federal prosecutor at the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). At the DOJ, he litigated civil, criminal, and appellate cases for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin before assuming a role prosecuting white collar criminal offenses for the DOJ’s Tax Division in Washington, D.C. Agnello also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Roger L. Wollman at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and to the Honorable Roberto A. Lange at the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota. He began his legal career in the Washington, D.C. office of a large international law firm, where he represented clients in trademark enforcement and litigation matters.
Agnello received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2007, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, served as class commencement speaker, and was Articles Editor for the Wisconsin International Law Journal. He received his B.A., with distinction, from Cornell University in 2004.
