Session IV - Workshop L: The New Proposed Overtime Regulations: What’s Included, What’s Not, and What to Do to Get Ready

28th Annual Labor & Employment Relations Law Seminar

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has released its new proposed overtime regulations. If implemented as-is, those proposed regulations would significantly increase the number of employees eligible for overtime. As the final regulations will be released shortly, many businesses are starting to plan for how they will classify employees once the final regulations take effect.

In this workshop, attorneys Amy O. Bruchs, Mitchell W. Quick and Jason A. Kunschke will explain the DOL’s proposed regulations and what additional overtime changes the final regulations may bring. In particular, the following topics will be covered:

  • An overview of the DOL’s proposed regulations that would raise the required salary levels for exempt status
  • Predictions regarding other changes that may appear in the final regulations, such as additional revisions to the required salary levels and the duties tests for exempt employees
  • Practical advice to prepare your business for the new overtime regulations
