Right to Work (RTW) laws prevent employees from having to pay dues to a labor union as a condition of their hiring or continued employment. Currently twenty-four states have such laws, including Michigan and Indiana. Both of these neighbors and economic development competitors, have become right to work states in recent years.
State Legislators have recently discussed the possibility of introducing a right to work bill in this legislative session. WMC, the State’s Chamber of Commerce, considers this one of their top legislative priorities for Wisconsin.
KABA is pleased to welcome Scott Manley and Scott Beightol to provide additional information on Right to Work Legislation, its expected impact on Wisconsin’s economy, and its prospects in the Legislature.
