Milwaukee, WI (November 5, 2015) – Michael Best & Friedrich LLP and the Potawatomi Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America announce that Attorney Andrew J. Paprocki has joined the Executive Board of the Potawatomi Area Council as Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Paprocki, an Eagle Scout and active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), will help ensure the integrity of unit service operations throughout the Council by working closely with local volunteer leaders to mobilize resources to ensure the growth and success of Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Venture Crews within the Potawatomi Area Council. He will guide the chairs of various committees related to unit service through implementation and oversight of committee training workshops, development of recruiting action plans to fill key positions, and review of objectives and key issues. Mr. Paprocki will report to the executive board on the current state of unit service operations in the council and will represent the local committees and Scouting units on issues related to unit service.
Mr. Paprocki has served in various roles for the BSA, including Nominating Chair of the Onatah District Committee, Unit Commissioner, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Venture Event Consultant. He has also recently completed the coursework of the BSA’s Wood Badge training program and is in the process of “working his ticket.” Matthew Winters, Senior Development Director of the Potawatomi Area Council, says of the appointment, “We are very excited to have Mr. Paprocki join the Potawatomi Area Council board. As an attorney in Michael Best’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, Mr. Paprocki helps large corporations, major research universities and individual inventors with matters related to U.S. and foreign patent protection for a broad array of technological areas including biomedical, electrical, and computer technologies. In addition to drafting and prosecuting patent applications, he has experience analyzing and advising clients regarding patentability, invalidity and infringement. He also has experience obtaining, licensing and enforcing patent rights and preparing complex patent portfolios for potential litigation and licensing programs.
He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2007 and his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, cum laude, from Marquette University in 2004.
