Formed in 2007, ACOEL was created as a professional association of distinguished lawyers practicing in the field of environmental law. Membership is by invitation-only, and members are recognized by their peers as preeminent in their field as well as experienced individuals who have practiced environmental law for at least 15 years and continue to make environmental law the majority of their practice. The organization has grown to more than 200 members in 48 states and the District of Columbia and centers its efforts on maintaining and improving the standards of practice, administration of justice, and ethics of the profession, and contributing to the development of environmental law at both the state and federal level.
Palmer is Chair of Michael Best’s Environmental Practice Group and Pulp and Paper Industry Team. He is a member of the Energy Industry Team, Non-Metallic Mining Group and leads a sub-group focused on Clean Air Act matters. Palmer's clients benefit from his unique experience as both a lawyer and technical consultant.
