Milwaukee, WI (June 19, 2015) – Michael Best & Friedrich LLP announces that Casimir F. Laska has rejoined the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group as a Senior Counsel. Mr. Laska is based in Michael Best’s Waukesha office.
He has more than 30 years of experience in intellectual property matters, particularly in software, computer and mechanical patent prosecution, counseling and opinions. Mr. Laska also assists clients with the preparation and negotiation of patent licenses, non-disclosure agreements, software licenses, software support and related agreements, and a variety of computer-related Service Level Agreements.
Mr. Laska received his J.D. from Marquette University Law School and his B.S., magna cum laude, from Marquette University. He recently completed courses in computer networking, computer network security, network penetration testing, firewalls, intrusion detection systems and Linux at Waukesha County Technical College.
Mr. Laska tutors immigrants from Latin America and Eastern Europe in English as a Second Language and volunteers at the Waukesha Food Pantry. He was a contributing editor of the treatise, State Trademark and Unfair Competition Law, and was a chairman of the American Bar Association Subcommittee on Trade Disparagement and Comparative Advertising, and the INTA State Trademark Subcommittee.
