Cristo Rey High School recently named Michael Best one of 23 businesses that will employ its freshmen this coming school year.
"A total of 23 Milwaukee-area businesses have agreed to employ 14-year-old students in full-time jobs this coming school year, as part of a partnership with a new Catholic high school opening in West Milwaukee.
Cristo Rey High School is an unusual type of college-prep, Jesuit high school that only enrolls low-income students, and has them work at businesses five days a month to help contribute to the cost of their own tuition. The work experiences expose students to what life is like after high school, and help them build critical skills."
