WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 21, 2015) – Valerie L. Green, an attorney in the Energy Industry Team at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, was recently named one of Super Lawyers Magazine’s 2015 Washington, D.C., Rising Stars in the Energy & Natural Resources category. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in each state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
Green is a member of Michael Best’s Transactional Practice Group in the firm’s Washington, D.C., where she focuses her practice on electric, natural gas and related energy matters. She represents clients in administrative litigation, investigations and other proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other regulatory agencies.
Green has significant experience representing electric cooperatives, investor-owned utilities and transmission providers, power and transmission customers and a retail regulator in proceedings before FERC and state public utility commissions.
Green received her Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of Law, and her Bachelor of the Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
