Michael Best Adds Top Tier Talent to Its Denver Office with Two New Partners

Michael Best is pleased to welcome Joseph C. Daniels and Jack (Jay) Mankamyer II as Partners in the firm’s Denver office. The additions highlight the firm’s ongoing, strategic commitment to further strengthen Michael Best’s deep bench in the Western States.

With more than a decade of experience, Daniels joins the Litigation Practice Group as a strategic advisor to clients around the country in all aspects of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy, discovery, motions practice, trial, and post-trial issues. Helping navigate complex legal matters, Daniels brings a unique approach to the courtroom with his background in theater, delivering compelling and understandable narratives that are effective with both judges and juries. He has significant experience across an array of commercial litigation including considerable experience with both intellectual property and business tort disputes, as well as financial services, telecommunications, oil and gas, and corporate governance disputes.

Mankamyer joins the Real Estate Practice Group with a nationwide leasing practice as well as broad experience in the representation of developers, purchasers, sellers, investors, and lenders in complex commercial real estate transactions. His robust practice, spanning more than fifteen years, includes the representation of both tenants and landlord in the negotiation of retail, office and healthcare leases, as well as representing buyers and sellers in the purchase and the sale of commercial and residential property; developers in the entitlement and financing stages of projects; lenders and borrowers in loan negotiation and documentation; and owners, managers, architects, and contractors in the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts.

Daniels received his J.D., high distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.A. from Grinnell College. Mankamyer earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School, his LL.M. from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, his M.B.A. from University of Colorado and his B.A., cum laude, from Georgetown University. Mankamyer also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado where he teaches a course in real estate law for graduate students in the MBA program at the Leeds School of Business.
