Michael Best Awarded with the 2022 Tipping the Scales Recognition by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance

Michael Best is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance as a recipient of their 2022 Tipping the Scales recognition. This award is given to firms with 50% or more women in their new partner class. The Alliance announced the award in tandem with the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s annual New Partner Report which examines publicly released data from the nation’s largest and top-grossing law firms. Specifically, the report focuses on the gender breakdown of attorneys promoted to partnership in their US offices.

“The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance is doing vital work to promote equitable hiring processes and increased inclusion in the workplace, and we’re honored to be a part of this important recognition,” noted Carrie Byrnes, Chair of the firm’s Women’s Development Group. “We’re very proud to have a wide range respresentation within our firm, and we’re looking forward to continuing to expand our perspectives.”

As part of Michael Best’s DEI intiatitives, the firm has a Women’s Development Group that consists of attorneys and professionals from all practice groups and seniority levels. These groups work to create and expand programs and policies within the firm that support our women lawyers and professionals in their career development.

Michael Best will be recognized at the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s annual conference, on November 3rd. The event will be led by Anne Chow, former CEO of AT&T Business, who will share how her dedication to combatting unconscious bias, along with a passion for education, diversity and advancing women, has helped to cultivate a new generation of leaders and build an inclusive culture.
