Brett R. Valentyn Joins Michael Best’s Corporate & Transactional Practice Group in Madison

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Brett R. Valentyn to its Corporate & Transactional Practice Group as a Senior Counsel in the firm’s Madison office.

Valentyn brings to Michael Best a breadth of corporate and transactional experience and distinguished expertise in mergers and acquisition transactions. Valentyn joins Michael Best from Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago, where he first joined as a summer associate in 2015 and returned as a full-time associate in 2016. He was subsequently elevated to managing associate in January 2022. Valentyn was a member of Sidley’s M&A and Private Equity Practice Group, advising clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, capital markets and other transactional and contractual matters. Valentyn’s M&A and private equity experience includes advising clients on the buy-side and sell-side of transactions, for small-cap to large-cap companies, across a diverse group of industries.

Valentyn received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a double major in Finance, Investment & Banking and Real Estate & Urban Land Economics. He subsequently earned his J.D., magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
