Strategies and Risks Related to the Monetization of Data Collected from Uncrewed Systems

AUVSI Exponential 2022

Companies in the uncrewed technology space are in a unique position to capitalize on the value inherent in the vast quantities of data, including video, collected and captured during the course of operations. And for uncrewed tech companies to thrive, they must understand how to properly obtain, store, and potentially distribute that data to maximize its value while working within the framework of existing legal protections and constraints. This program will teach attendees the key issues to consider in terms of protecting and deriving value from drone data, licensing that data, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Presenters Derek Stettner and Plymouth Nelson will provide a straightforward overview of the legal mechanisms for protecting data, and share examples of agreements and deal structures for data collection, sharing, and use in developing, among other things, artificial intelligence and predictive analytics.
