Gregory Wasylak Joins Michael Best’s Litigation Practice Group in Wilmington

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP has welcomed Gregory Wasylak to its Litigation practice as a Senior Counsel in the firm’s Wilmington office.

Wasylak joins the firm after spending 21 years as a litigator and trial attorney at Venable LLP. He represented businesses of all sizes on matters relating to products liability, contract disputes, complex insurance, and employment matters. Wasylak handles all phases of litigation, including pre-filing strategy and negotiations, discovery, witness preparation, motions practice, mediation, and trial.

“We’re thrilled to add such a talented trial lawyer to our Litigation practice group. Greg has practiced for over two decades, tried numerous cases to judges and juries, and has seen the landscape through a lot of different changes and obstacles,” said Richard Ensor, Chair of Litigation Practice Group. “His strong track record of success in a number of different industries is impressive.”

Wasylak has served as lead or co-counsel in both jury and bench trials in Maryland, the District of Columbia and other state and federal courts. He has successfully defended and advised manufacturers of motor vehicles and boats, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, heating systems and various other consumer products. He also represented a global technology company in a complex, multi-million dollar breach of contract suit with state government in federal court.

“We were impressed by Greg’s diverse trial experience over the years,” said Andrew R. Jones, Managing Partner of the North Carolina offices. “He will be a great fit in the firm’s Wilmington office, as we continue to add depth and experience to serve our North Carolina clients.”

Michael Best has seen considerable growth in the North Carolina market this year, with the acquisition of Forrest Firm in January adding on 23 lawyers and 7 offices to the firm’s ranks.

Wasylak received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland College Park, and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law.
