Ukraine Sitrep
Russian media reported that the cruiser Moskva, which the U.S. believes was hit by two Ukrainian anti-ship missiles, sunk to the bottom of the Black Sea while being towed to port. Russia lashed out with a heavy assault all over Ukraine, including missiles hitting Kyiv. This includes Russia bombing Mariupol with Tu-22m3 long-range bombers – the first known use of these bombers of the war.
The Czech Republic sent multi-rocket launchers to Ukraine. Germany continues to be hesitant about tank deliveries. Sens. Rob Portman (R-OH), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Dick Durbin (D-IL) sent a letter to President Joe Biden urging him to appoint a Ukraine Security Assistance Coordinator.
Police say they have found over 900 bodies of civilians in the wake of Russia’s retreat from the Kyiv area, including 350 in Bucha.
