Elizabeth Rogers Elected as First Female Chair of TX State Bar Computer & Technology Section

Michael Best is pleased to announce that Partner Elizabeth A. Rogers has been named the first-ever female Chair of the Texas Bar Association’s Computer & Technology Section in its 31 year history. In this role, Rogers will provide leadership on emerging computer and technology issues while promoting sound policy and public understanding. Additionally, she will help educate and enhance the professional development of its members.

Rogers focuses her practice on issues including breach responses, privacy risk assessments, and enterprise-wide cybersecurity compliance frameworks across industries such as retail, health care, contingent workforce and staffing, education, and state and local governments. She spends much of her time focusing on matters implicating privacy issues arising in the employment law context because she spent the first half of her law career as a management side employment lawyer. As a former Chief Privacy Officer and General Counsel, she brings a unique and informed in-house perspective to her practice.

Rogers will serve as Chair for a one-year term which starts in June of 2021. The Computer & Technology Section was founded in 1990 and now consists of more than 9,000 members.
