United Way Manitowoc County Welcomes New Board Chair and Members

Kim Rooney, UnitedOne Credit Union CEO, returned to the United Way Manitowoc County Board of Directors last year and succeeds Sheila Schetter as Board Chair. “I missed being a part of the United Way,” said Rooney. “If there has ever been a time our community needs us to work together for the betterment of us all, it’s now.”

Joe Cook joins the Board from UW Oshkosh. Tracy Pleus, who began serving on United Way’s HR and Talent Committee last year, joins the Board from Lakeside Foods. Heidi Soodsma joins the Board from Lakeshore Technical College.

“We are delighted to have Kim back on the Board! Her leadership skills and passion for the Manitowoc County community are invaluable to the organization, especially as we implement our new three-year strategic plan and continue to address community need,” says Executive Director, Ashley Bender. “We are also excited to have Joe, Tracy, and Heidi join the team. They each bring talent and knowledge to the organization that will strengthen our team.”

Jonathan Burns, CCI Systems, continues to serve on the Board of Directors as Treasurer. Additionally, Justin Herman, CliftonLarsonAllen, continues to serve on the Board of Directors, and Michael Yeh, Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, serves on the Board of Directors as Legal Counsel.
