The continuing economic crisis is impacting condominium unit owners’ ability to pay their mortgage payments and their monthly association dues. If mortgage foreclosure filings increase in 2021 as predicted, bankruptcy filings will also increase, as will challenges by unit owners to condo liens and Associations’ efforts to enforce the liens. In this program, Michael Best attorneys will examine how condominium liens are treated in bankruptcy and identify strategies for debtors and creditors on either side of the dispute.
Marie counsels clients in a broad range of complex business litigation matters, including commercial contract disputes, business torts, real estate matters, trademark infringement, and class action defense. She also has substantial property tax litigation experience at both the trial court and appellate levels.
Reza focuses his practice in the area of bankruptcy law, assisting financially distressed businesses and creditors. Prior to joining Michael Best, Reza served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Catherine J. Furay in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. While earning his J.D., Reza gained additional experience as a law clerk and a Summer Associate at Michael Best.
