“We’re excited to welcome Rebecca to our team,” said Adrienne Ehrhardt, Chair of Michael Best’s Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group. “We’ve seen a number of national and global privacy regulations introduced the last couple of years, and it’s essential that we have a skilled team of attorneys who can address and mitigate the concerns of our clients. Rebecca brings a wealth of knowledge advising health care organizations, in particular, which will be a tremendous asset as we continue to serve clients in these critical sectors.”

Prior to joining Michael Best, Gerard served as commercial and regulatory counsel at Walgreen Co., where she advised several business units on matters in connection with marketing, private label brands, and retail products. She was responsible for enforcing privacy regulations for the company’s U.S. and European entities, drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements, and collaborating with the company’s public policy team to promote initiatives to further the company’s interests. Gerard earned both her LL.M. and her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and her B.A. from Purdue University.
