Michael Best is pleased to announce that Roy E. Wagner and Lauren A. Triebenbach have joined the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group as partners in Milwaukee. Wagner will also serve as the Leader of the firm’s Construction & Construction Litigation team.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Roy and Lauren to our team,” said Michelle Wagner Ebben, Chair of Michael Best’s Real Estate Practice Group. “Their experience handling a wide breadth of matters in the Midwest will further strengthen our ability to serve current and prospective clients in need of real estate, construction and financial services. Their arrival also supports the firm’s goal of bolstering the depth of our Real Estate Practice Group.”

Wagner holds more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, providing representation and counsel to owners, real estate and design professionals, contractors and developers on a variety of real estate, commercial and construction matters. By leveraging his experience as the former Chair of the Construction Law Section and currently serving as a Board Member of the Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Wagner is able to successfully utilize mediation, arbitration and litigation to finalize dispute resolutions. He has also served as both an arbitrator and a mediator, as well as argued before the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Triebenbach advises contractors, design professionals, owners, home inspectors, construction managers, architects, engineers, consultants and corporations on matters in connection with complex construction litigation. This includes defect and payment disputes; risk avoidance procedures; lien claims; negotiating and preparing construction contracts; defending home inspectors against claims of property owners; and drafting and reviewing commercial leases. On the banking and financial services side, Triebenbach counsels lenders on the documentation process of new loans, amending existing loans and restructuring troubled loans. She has also worked on numerous multi-million dollar loan transactions and high-level workouts for banks at the local and national levels.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Wagner was shareholder and chair of the Construction Law and Litigation sections at von Briesen & Roper, s.c. He earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
