NAIOP Wisconsin is pleased to welcome back Michael Best as the Presenting Sponsor for the CRE Executive Forum. The Forum is an interactive leadership platform for leading commercial real estate professionals.
On March 14, Nancy Haggerty and Hamang Patel, with Anne Canfield of Michael Best Strategies, hosted an interactive panel discussion with a select group of real estate leaders, on the practical use of the Opportunity Zone tax program. Anne Canfield provided an update on the Treasury’s second round of Guidance on the program, which is expected to be released in the next 4-6 weeks, as well as other legislative efforts to add tools to the programs to encourage direct investment to fund municipal infrastructure costs. Nancy Haggerty and Hamang Patel, together with Dannielle Lewis of WIPFLI, discussed what is working and not working in the program, and how to pair the tax advantages with Historic Tax Credits, New Market Tax Credits, and TIF Funds. The program was the first of four Executive Leadership Programs to be given this year through NAIOP, an important real estate trade group.
