MILWAUKEE (September 13, 2018) – Michael Best is pleased to announce the Wisconsin Law Journal has named Molly S. Lawson in the 2018 Up and Coming Lawyers list. Lawson is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group who focuses her practice on patent protection, specifically in the area of computer software and hardware technology. The award recognizes attorneys who are on the fast track to making a significant impact on the legal profession, and representing determination in legal work, in community betterment, and in improving their law firm.
Because of her eagerness to learn developing technologies, Lawson has built a sophisticated practice combining expertise in intellectual property law and computer science. Her clients-first approach combined with determination established a successful path early on, standing out from the crowd, especially in an area that remains underrepresented by women.
Beyond Lawson’s sophisticated practice, she has been instrumental in mentoring many new parents at the firm with her can-do attitude and ability to balance work and life activities. Lawson’s track to partnership sets an example for others to model after.
When not serving clients, Lawson gives back to the community through her involvement volunteering at various Marquette legal clinics, including the Non-Profit Legal Clinic and the Wills for Veterans Clinic.
Lawson received her J.D., magna cum laude, from George Mason University Law School and her B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She will be honored along with the other Wisconsin Law Journal Up and Coming Lawyers recipients at Discovery World’s Pilot House on September 13, 2018.
