Managing Electronically Stored Information in the Evolving Discovery Landscape

Do you truly understand your own information systems? Too often, companies fail to appreciate the impact and potential liability inherent to Electronically Stored Information (ESI) until it is too late.

Failing to properly understand and manage your data can lead to severe consequences when a legal action thrusts internal systems into the light of day. Making matters worse, what is true of your systems today will not be true tomorrow. The constant evolution of technology makes legal guidance from courts and statutes quickly obsolete. What we do know is that ignorance is no longer a defense when it comes to ESI.

During this presentation, the Michael Best team will walk you through the pitfalls of being unprepared, the experiments that courts are enacting to deal with these issues, and the opportunities that can be exploited by the self-aware and savvy.

We will apply for CLE credit in WI, CO, IL, NC, TX, UT, and VA (if applicable).

Presented by James P. Fieweger, Geoffrey J. Geftman, and Sara R. Whaley.
