CHICAGO (June 1, 2018) – Michael Best is pleased to announce that Jorge M. Leon has been included as one of Negocios Now 2018 Who’s Who in Hispanic Chicago. The award is peer-nominated and a merit-based list that has been published since 2013 which recognizes, promotes, and celebrates Hispanic leadership in the Chicago area.
Leon is a partner in the firm’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice based out of the Chicago office. With nearly 20 years of experience, Leon has counseled clients in a variety of industries on the design, establishment, and maintenance of retirement plans. His work has been influential in the development of new tax policy with the IRS and has ensured that several hundred thousand workers across the country can meet their retirement needs. He has implemented various diversity initiatives at Michael Best and currently serves as the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair, as well as on the Board of Directors for Chicago’s Gads Hill Center, a 120-year-old nonprofit serving Chicago’s Hispanic community.
Among his achievements, Leon was recently rated and honored by the exclusive Chambers USA, named by Crain’s Custom Media as one of Chicago’s most influential minority lawyers, elected a fellow at the American Bar Foundation, and is a 2018 Fellow for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Leon’s views and opinions on benefits law and diversity are frequently sought by national publications.
Leon will be recognized at the 2018 Negocios Now Who’s Who Gala on July 13, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago.
