As employers with 100 or more employees and government prime contractors/first-tier subcontractors with 50 or more employees know, their companies are required to file EEO-1 reports annually. Starting with the reports based on 2017 employment figures, these reports are due by March 31st of the next calendar year. This year, due to issues with the filing system, many employers filed for an extension of the March deadline which gave them until April 30th to file. Now the filing deadline for this cycle has been further extended to June 1, 2018, apparently whether or not the company filed a request for extension of the March 31st deadline. While many employers have already filed, this should be welcome news to employers who are waiting for responses to their requests for new company numbers, who wanted to change from using Type 8 to Type 6 reports (or vice versa), or were having issues using the system and were up against the April 30th deadline.
