Michael Best Partner Marshall Schmitt was quoted in World Intellectual Property Review's article, "SCOTUS hearing bodes well for IPR process, say lawyers" on November 28. 2017.

"The US Supreme Court is likely to rule that the inter partes review (IPR) is constitutional, lawyers have told WIPR following oral arguments in Oil States Energy Services v Greene’s Energy Group.

Yesterday, November 27, the Supreme Court heard arguments in the constitutional dispute, which could reshape the entire patent system. The court is tasked with deciding whether the IPR process at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is unconstitutional."
