MILWAUKEE, WI (September 26, 2017) – Michael Best is pleased to announce that Katherine W. Schill has been honored by the Association for Women Lawyers as the 2017 Mentoring Award recipient.
The award is presented in support of the Association for Women Lawyers’ mission including to promote the welfare, interests and professional development of lawyers who are women; to promote the legal interests of women generally; to maintain the honor and integrity of the legal profession; and to advance justice for all individuals.
Schill is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, concentrating her practice on patent and trademark litigation, as well as litigation related to unfair trade practices and false advertising.
In her more than 20 years with the firm, Schill has established herself as a leading litigator, mentor, role model, and advocate for the firm’s female attorneys. In her rise to the partnership, Schill established a flexible work time policy, allowing her to effectively balance a dedication to both her legal practice and her family. She also plays a significant role with the firm’s recruiting and retention efforts.
Schill has been recognized by the Wisconsin Law Journal as a 2016 Women in the Law recipient. She received her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, cum laude, in 1994 and her B.A. at Duke University, cum laude, in 1990.
Schill, along with all Association for Women Lawyers’ award recipients, will be honored on September 26, 2017 at the Italian Community Center in downtown Milwaukee.
