Michael Best Strategies Expands with Addition of Canfield & Associates

MADISON, WI– Michael Best Strategies announced today the expansion of its Washington, D.C. office with the merger of Michael Best Strategies and Canfield & Associates.

Anne Canfield started Canfield & Associates in 1996. The firm has a rich history of success in providing strategic planning and policy advice. Canfield has worked with organizations at the federal and state level, as well as, abroad on issues in financial services, with a focus on mortgage and infrastructure finance, health care, tax, trade and budget policy.

Michael Best Strategies has offices in six states and works with clients in a wide range of areas, including government relations, public policy consulting, grassroots advocacy and public affairs.

Canfield also serves as Executive Director of the Consumer Mortgage Coalition (CMC), a trade association, a mortgage industry trade association. She also worked for GE/GE Capital for ten years, providing policy and planning advice to the firm.  In addition, Canfield has over eleven years of experience on Capitol Hill, when she worked as a senior staff advisor for three Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and then as the senior advisor and Senate Finance Committee aide to a member of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. Canfield is a graduate of Northwestern University and studied at the University of Paris, Paris, France. 

Canfield’s affiliated firm, Canfield Press, LLC, will continue to specialize financial publications, including the GSE Report, which reviews global financial and monetary policy developments and the activities of the government-sponsored enterprises, and the Disruption Report, which reviews the impact of new technologies on various industry sectors.
