This webcast will examine why patents and trade secrets are important for food and nutrition inventions, and will also identify the top challenges in obtaining intellectual property protection of the inventions. We will cover current court decisions, analyze factors that led to the decisions, and discuss how the decisions may affect protection of inventions in the future. Participants will also be provided with the opportunity to ask questions of practitioners who are experienced in law pertaining to food and nutrition, which will be especially helpful for those participants who may not have strong relationships with an IP firm. Attendees will also hear from a food scientist with more than 20 years of experience, who will share some examples from her career.
