I am constantly delighted by the new expressions that pop into common usage.
For example, I never knew what a “grand-dog” was until I found out I have one. My wife was telling friends that while, as yet, we have no grandchildren, we do have a grand-dog.
As it turns out, our son (dog-uncle?) adores the grand-dog, and I have come to a better appreciation for the role pets play in our lives.
The state of Wisconsin shares this appreciation, because in its revision of the state’s Trust Code, Wisconsin added provisions that make it possible for a pet lover to provide for a pet after his or her own death by creating a “pet trust.”
