This presentation will focus on the legal and regulatory issues associated with air emissions from agriculture with a particular focus on animal feeding operations and digesters. Agricultural operations have the potential to affect air quality through emissions of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, particulate matter, greenhouse gases and other pollutants. ENGOs and regulators have been pursuing aggressive and sometimes creative approaches to regulate these emissions leading to litigation and uncertainty. This presentation will update attendees on the current status of these efforts and offer pragmatic advice for operating in this turbulent regulatory context.
