Milwaukee, WI – Michael Best & Friedrich LLP’s Summer Associate program ranks #1 in Wisconsin, and among the top 84 programs in the nation, according to The American Lawyer’s annual Summer Associate Survey. 100% of Michael Best’s 28 Summer Associates responded to the survey, giving the Summer Associate Program an average rating of 4.539% out of a possible 5.0%.
“We recruit and hire law students for our Summer Associate Program who have the potential to be elevated to our partnership. Our summer associates participate in real work, including pretrial preparation, document preparation, client consultation, and transactional closings, in addition to research, writing and analysis,” stated Daniel Vaccaro, Co-Chair of Michael Best’s Associate Hiring Committee.
According to the survey results, summer associates found the most value in testing their legal skills on serious matters, and getting a chance to learn what law firm life is really like; Michael Bests’ Program excelled in both of these categories. More than 11,000 summer associates at 190 law firms were surveyed. Scores were based on nine key areas including the interest level of the work, how much of it was “real” training and guidance, interactions with partners and full-time associates, how well the firm communicated its goals, how accurately the firm portrayed itself in interviews, how it rated overall as a place to work, and the respondents’ inclination to accept a job if one were offered.
