Milwaukee

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP has served clients in the Milwaukee area for more than 150 years. Today, more than 160 attorneys work from our two offices in the greater Milwaukee area - in downtown and Waukesha.

The downtown Milwaukee office is the firm's largest, serving the broad legal needs of a diverse client base within and beyond Wisconsin. Our clients range from individuals, families and one-person start-up ventures, to Fortune 500 companies. We guide manufacturers, banks, non-profits, educational institutions, and hospitals and health care entities in a wide range of business transactions and litigation, intellectual property and real estate matters and many other critical issues. Though we are based in the Midwest, our practice is national and international in scope.

Through volunteer activity and sponsorship, the firm is an active and enthusiastic supporter of community organizations and charitable entities. Organizations such as the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the United Performing Arts Fund have specifically praised efforts by Michael Best.

Michael Best is the exclusive law firm sponsor for Project Ripple Effect, a community-wide effort to improve life in the Milwaukee area by promoting volunteerism and philanthropy.

Supporting the arts has long been a priority of the firm. Attorneys at Michael Best serve in prominent board positions in Milwaukee's performing arts and visual arts organizations. Several Michael Best partners helped lead the effort to build the Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, and since that landmark was completed, the firm has supported important exhibitions inside the museum.

About Milwaukee
Milwaukee, a metropolitan area of almost two million people, has retained the ethnic diversity, enviable work ethic, recreational and cultural diversity and friendliness for which it has long been identified. The city has also been recognized by Next Generation Consulting as the tenth "coolest community" in the country for its young, talented workforce. A healthy and diverse economy consistently keeps unemployment below the national average and provides a standard of living and lifestyle second to none.

Milwaukee is a family city - relatively hassle-free and safe. The downtown area has been rejuvenated in recent years with a new convention center, theater district, sports and entertainment complex, quality residential housing, restaurants, hotels and office buildings. Suburban areas are characterized by beautiful and affordable residential areas just a short commute from downtown.

Living in the greater Milwaukee area provides a vast array of year-round activities. Whether you wish to actively participate in sporting events (including sailing on Lake Michigan or one of the many inland lakes), enjoy the Milwaukee Art Museum, cheer on our national sports teams, or experience the numerous ethnic and community festivals, this is a community where having fun is a way of life.
