Katherine W. Schill

Kathy Schill’s practice is devoted to commercial and intellectual property litigation. She has litigated patent and trademark cases in federal district courts across the country and has argued before the Courts of Appeals for the Federal and Seventh Circuits. She has litigated trademark cases related to goods as diverse as motorcycles, dolls, clothes, and golf balls. Ms. Schill’s patent litigation practice covers a wide variety of technical areas, including mechanical and chemical engineering, biotechnology, and design patents. She has successfully represented Fortune 500 companies including Briggs & Stratton, Fortune Brands, Harley-Davidson Motor Co., Mattel, and USA Instruments in intellectual property cases.

Prior Work Experience

Ms. Schill clerked for the Honorable Willis P. Whichard on the North Carolina Supreme Court for one year before joining Michael Best & Friedrich.
